Title:
The ontological fracture
Abstract:
Although we have managed to build proto-computers and communication systems based on its laws, quantum mechanics is certainly wrong, because of the measurement problem. This talk aims at putting due emphasis on this fact, and at exploring some of its broader consequences. In doing so, we will review and contrast some of the most popular interpretations of quantum mechanics, and ultimately find them all wanting in one respect or another. We shall also discuss the local or non-local nature of quantum collapses, and hopefully argue with the audience in the process.
